Jim Erwin, a photographer who was active in the 60's. He would fairly abruptly end his artistic practice to form a commercial studio in the 70's and then give up photography all-together in the 80's. While helping Jim with a move, he asked me if I wanted his three large trunks of negatives, otherwise he would throw them out. I took them and stored them in my studio for two years before I started scanning. The work presented in Archive is made between 1964 to around 1968. It is mostly in Rochester, NY and Chicago, Ill, where Jim studied (first at RIT and later at IIT) This first collection of Erwin s work. There are still thousands of negatives left to discover.
